Piotr Gawrysiak received his PhD in Computer Science from Warsaw University of Technology in 2002 after completing his MSc at this university in 1998. He is also a graduate of the University of Warsaw where he studied Business Management and received MSc in 2001. Dr Gawrysiak is currently working as an assistant professor at the Warsaw University of Technology teaching database design, data, text and web mining and artificial intelligence; and doing research in these areas but he is also exploring such diverse topics as (among other things) open source development management, intelligent wireless networks or ontology creation and management. He is also working as a freelance IT consultant and R&D project manager under private and public research programmes. He has been involved in BRAMA activities since its very beginning.
Geir Horn is senior scientist at SINTEF ICT, the biggest independent research institute in Scandinavia. He has been working in European research for 15 years and has managed several European collaborative projects. He has participated in multiple proposal evaluations for the IST programme in FP5, FP6 and FP7: SCI-Europe, SISCI, Arche. Now he coordinates a few projects: MADAME, MUSIC and MicroBuilder and takes part in 3S project. He is responsible for European collaboration in Norwegian research institute SIMULA. Dr Horn is a scientist of European and international reputation, he was consultant in many R&D projects, and took part in evaluation processes of some R&D programmes and project as a consultant and evaluator. He is an author of many scientific publications. He speaks Norwegian, English and French fluently.
Jan Kaczmarek, graduated from Warsaw School of Economics. His interests cover, inter alia: benchmarking methods, multiple criteria analysis, socio-economic aspects of information society, mobile technology and applications, European Union policies on research and development (R&D) and media. J. Kaczmarek also graduated from the Fontys University of Professional Education in Eindhoven, Holland where he received a bachelor degree in International Marketing and Management. He was project coordinator’s deputy in ALIPRO project (project supported from the resources of the 3rd call of FP6). Currently, he is involved in a European 3S project (Strategy for Software and Services financed also from FP6). His work experience covers an internship in a Catalan international trading company based in Barcelona. He cooperates with BRAMA through its liaison with MOST Foundation where J. Kaczmarek is responsible for coordinating projects and proposal development, in particular under R&D schemes such as European Framework Programme and national R&D programmes. He is an author/co-author of several publications on R&D financing mechanisms and support schemes.
Jakub Lebuda is a free-lance research project manager and cooperation facilitator with 5 years of experience in European and national projects both of research and business nature. He is a graduate of University of Lodz, Poland (international relations) and Université de Rouen, France (economics) and currently works in the field of mobile ICT and innovation. He cooperates with BRAMA Laboratory, Foundation for Mobile Open Society through wireless Technology (MOST) and the Polish Platform on Mobile Communications and Wireless Technologies. His interests cover information management in hi-tech organisations, cognitive science, artificial intelligence and socio-economic aspects of technology development. Jakub authored/co-authored a number of publications on innovation support schemes and information management.
Jakub Lipiński is a mobile software enthusiast and architect. Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Board at Psiloc, a Symbian software house. As a head of the software development team, he designs and leads Mobile 2.0 solutions for both business and end-users. Jakub also started the Latest Mobile Technologies Laboratory at Warsaw University of Technology, which conducts research into iPhone and Android platforms. He's graduated in computer science from AGH-University of Science and Technology and Business Communication from Tischner European University.
Tyrel McMahan is a geek a heart and has been involved in everything from dot com start-ups to new media, radio and TV. Educated as an engineer, but crossed-over to journalism, Tyrel still has a passion for technology and sees it every day in the media business.
Mieczysław Muraszkiewicz is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of Warsaw University of Technology and holds professorships at University of Warsaw. He is also Deputy Director of Institute for Computer and Information Engineering. Since 1988 he has been working as a consultant, expert and coordinator in United Nations-sponsored projects, World Bank projects and European Commission projects in some 45 countries. His main areas of expertise include: network information systems, mobile communications, knowledge representation and management, e-learning, relationships between technology and culture, management of multi-national R&D programmes, strategic analysis and planning. He is Polish Representative to the Domain Committee of the European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST), and Chairman of the Polish eMobility Platform.
Michał Olszewski is the author and chief officer of Lewiatan Business Angels, a network of business agents operating at the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan since May 2005. He was responsible for acquiring investment projects (over 350 within 1.5 years), selection, acquiring, and serving investors (currently 52 people), fixing the contents of term sheets, consulting in negotiations, and support in developing companies being investees. To date, LBA has closed 5 investments in companies at early stages of development.
Piotr Rutkowski is the founder and sole owner of the Rotel consultancy, which he has headed since its establishement in 1989. Its consulting activities focus on regulatory issues, telecommunication development strategies and issues related. to development policies in the telecommunication industry and information civilsation, service markets and the e-economy. He also deals with information security and critical infrastructure. Piotr Rutkowski is commentator of the renowned Polish weekly magazine Computerworld. Since 2007 he is a teacher in Jagiellonian University and University of Lublin. In 2008 he was a co-author of development scenarios in the National Foresight Program "Poland 2020 - Information and Communication Technologies".

Michał Andrzej Woźniak is the network and systems administrator at the BRAMA Laboratory and a student of the Faculty of Philosophy at Warsaw University. He joins these two seemingly conflicting areas of interest - information technology and philosophy - in his fascination in Free and Open Source Software, both from purely technical and philosophical point of view.
